INGREDIENTS

For the ribs:

2 racks pork spare ribs, approx 2.5 lbs.
2 Tbsp chili powder
2 Tbsp garlic salt
2 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper

For the sauce

1 Tbsp butter
1 small onion, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ tsp sea salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1½ cups ketchup
⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp hot sauce
¼ cup sugar
Oil for grill

DIRECTIONS

1 Preheat oven to 400°F.

2 In a small bowl combine chili powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle mixture generously on both sides of ribs.

3 Place ribs on heavy duty aluminum foil and wrap tightly. Place on rimmed baking sheet. Cook for 1½ hours.

4 To prepare BBQ sauce, in a medium saucepan melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Saute for 3 - 4 minutes or until soft. Add ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, hot sauce and sugar. Allow mixture to simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

5 Heat grill to medium-high heat (350°-375°F) and oil grates.

6 Remove ribs from foil packets and generously slather with BBQ sauce. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side.
