Tasting Notes: Our 2023 Mark West Pinot Noir is bright and smooth. This wine reveals fruit characters of red and dark cherries with hints of luscious strawberry and plum. The wines plush tannins with hints of caramel and toasted oak leave you with a medium bodied and balanced finish of fruit and oak.
Viticulture Notes:
2023 was a unique year for winegrowing from start to finish. Due to above average rainfall in the winter months and an unusually cool spring, we saw an extended bloom and heavy fruit set. Overall, even with many colder than average nights to extend harvest into November, the slow and steady growing season proved to give us just enough heat to fully ripen our crop and provide excellent quality.
Winemaking Notes:
Grapes harvested at optimum ripeness, Warm fermentation (88F - 92F) to create intense flavors, rich color and velvety tannins. Post fermentation, the wines are aged to add complexity and balance to the wines.
