Grilled Romaine Hearts

3 romaine lettuce hearts

2 Tbsp olive oil, divided

2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

¼ cup blue cheese crumbles

Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat the grill to medium-hot heat.
  2. Cut romaine hearts in half, length wise.
  3. Brush 1 tablespoon of olive oil over romaine hearts.
  4. Place romaine on the grill and cook until lightly charred, about 2 minutes on each side.
  5. In a small bowl combine balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon olive oil and stir.
  6. Place grilled romaine hearts cut side up on the plate and drizzle with balsamic dressing.
  7. Sprinkle with blue cheese crumbles and season with salt and pepper.
